Our Center, Tuệ Viên , http://chuatuevien.com/ honorably welcome Lama Masters Kalsang Rinpoche and
sangha of Dzongkar Choede Monastery coming to our Center for a Dharma
talk (English only) on the subject " How To Deal With Anger" on July 18,
2012 @ 7pm-9pm.
We would like to invite you all come to our Center on that date
(July 18, 2012 @ 7pm) to listen to and learn from a great master from
Tibet.
We
have an extremely rare and precious opportunity to view and venerate
sacred holy objects at an exhibition led by Lobsang Kalsang Rinpoche,
abbott of Dzongkar Choede Monastery. A long time ago, King Lhangdharma
who wanted to suppress Buddhism in Tibet gave order to destroy all
Buddhist related objects from Tibetan Monasteries. Buddha statues,
Dharma objects, Dharma books etc. were confiscated and thrown into the
river. However, he gave exception to save the sacred Amita Buddha statue
and green speaking Tara statue. These two statues were believed to have super natural power as they can talk on various occasions and express feelings.
Dzongka Chode Monastery was able to save and preserve these two
inconceivably mystical
statues from the King Llangdharma and was also blessed to receive a 450
year old Medicine Buddha prayer book from the Dalai Lama the 5th.
At this exhibition held by Kalsang Rinpoche and the Dzongkar Chode
Monastery, we will have a wonderful opportunity to pay our respect and
homage to the Buddha.
Kalsang Rinpoche, Abbot of Dzongkar Monastery,
is a highly revered monk who has been strictly vegetarian to promote
the no-killing lifestyle. Rinpoche holds the Geshe Degree, which is
equivalent to a doctorate (highest degree) in Buddhist philosophy. Rinpoche
successfully finished a three year, three month, three day Yamantaka
solitude retreat (Yamantaka practice is one of the highest Tantric yoga
practices). Before being
asked to become abbot of the Dzongkar, Rinpoche was the monastery's
disciplinary “Geku” master and acting chanting “Umzila” master. Rinpoche
is currently teaching both Sutra and Tantra to all Sangha members,
including 280 monks (200 adult
monks and 80 young ones)
Holy objects to be exhibited include:
1. Amitabha Buddha Statue over 1000 years old
2. Green Tara statue, over 1000 years old
